Coloring order

Start by coloring the kind Samaritan's green tunic and the injured traveler's orange-toned clothes in two different colors.
Use a bright color for the bandage on the traveler's arm, and amber for the little oil bottle in the Samaritan's hand.
Finish with the donkey's gray coat and the pack on its back, the tree, and the wildflowers at the bottom.

Questions to talk about

What did the hurt traveler say after he was helped?
What do you think the donkey is thinking as it watches?
Have you ever helped a hurt friend, or been helped yourself?

Take it further

Wrap a handkerchief around a doll's arm and say, 'Are you okay? I will help you.' Play the helper and the one being helped, then swap roles.

Age and time are rough guides for a child coloring alone with pencils or crayons; every child is different. The area count is an estimate counted from the line-art image.

Printing and coloring tips

Print on A4 or Letter in portrait to keep the original proportions.
