Activity guide for this page

Recommended age: Ages 7–10
Estimated time: 45–60 min
Difficulty: Challenging
Areas to color: about 300

Coloring order

Start with the clothes of the parents and the two children in the pew, dark colors for the grown-ups and brighter ones for the kids.
Alternate green and red on the big bow wreaths at the ends of the pews, the garland wrapped around the columns and the poinsettias.
Finish with the chandelier and balloons overhead, the stained-glass window and the people seated behind, starting with the smallest spaces.

Questions to talk about

What song is the whole family clapping along to?
How did the people who decorated the sanctuary with balloons and wreaths feel?
When did your family last gather and have a joyful day?

Take it further

Make a program for the whole-church Christmas celebration worship. Draw cards for welcome, singing, story time and sharing time, and tape them to the wall in order.

Age and time are rough guides for a child coloring alone with pencils or crayons; every child is different. The area count is an estimate counted from the line-art image.
