Coloring order

  1. Alternate two deep blues, panel by panel, across the wide solar roof, and color the posts holding it up in gray.
  2. Leave the car body white as the paper, add turquoise only along the front edge line, and color the charger's lightning bolt yellow.
  3. At the end, color the wind turbines on the far hill, the lake, the front bushes and the small flowers in light greens, greens and a few pinks.

Questions to talk about

  • What job is the cord between the charger and the car doing?
  • How might this charging spot with solar panels change at night?
  • Have you felt warm sunshine on a bright day? Where were you?

Take it further

Cut a palm-sized piece of foil and set it by a window. Watch how the light and shadow move as the sun passes, checking each hour.

Age and time are rough guides for a child coloring alone with pencils or crayons; every child is different. The area count is an estimate counted from the line-art image.
