- Challenging
- Areas to color
- about 320
Coloring order
- Color the pointed nose, the body and both wings of the open-wheel race car in one vivid color like red, and leave the long center stripe white.
- Add dark colors, one by one, to the huge tires sticking out on each side, the stacked tires by the garages and the tool cart.
- Last, use sky blue and gray for the metal frame overhead, the grandstand at the end of the track and the far fence.
Questions to talk about
- The wheels stick out from the body. Why might that be?
- Inside the garages, who is working and what are they doing?
- Have you ever run or cheered at a sports day? How did it feel?
Take it further
Use chairs and string to make a starting line and a pit area. One of you is the race car and one is the pit crew, and you play at a slow walk.
Age and time are rough guides for a child coloring alone with pencils or crayons; every child is different. The area count is an estimate counted from the line-art image.
