Activity guide for this page

Recommended age: Ages 5–8
Estimated time: 15–25 min
Difficulty: Medium
Areas to color: about 65

Coloring order

Rina's blue jacket and pants make one big matching outfit, so color them first in two shades from the same color family.
Give the round microphone and the small notebook in her hands eye-catching colors, and color the cream shirt underneath.
Finish with her wavy brown hair and her coral-colored shoes.

Questions to talk about

What news do you think News Reporter Rina has come to share today?
Who would you hold the microphone out to, and what would you ask?
Have you ever seen someone on TV or a video sharing the news?

Take it further

Stick crumpled paper on a paper tube to make a microphone, then report the best thing that happened today to your family like a news reporter.

Age and time are rough guides for a child coloring alone with pencils or crayons; every child is different. The area count is an estimate counted from the line-art image.

About this image

The black-and-white line art you print and color, with clear outlines and wide areas that suit younger children.

Printing and coloring tips

Print on A4 or Letter in portrait to keep the original proportions.
Keep the finished version open beside you while you color.
Use slightly heavier paper with water-based markers so the ink shows through less.
Fill the large areas first and leave the small ones for later.
The finished version is only a suggestion. Any colors you like will work.
