Coloring order
- Sweep golden brown over Leo's sleek body in one direction, and use a slightly darker shade for the flippers pressed together as if clapping.
- Use dark brown and gray for the rock Leo sits on, and blue for the waves crashing against it, leaving the white foam uncolored.
- Finish with the seagulls and clouds in the sky and the distant cliff, then split the sea below the horizon into two blues.
Questions to talk about
- Who do you think Leo is clapping for?
- What might the seagulls in the sky be saying to Leo?
- Have you ever been applauded? How did it feel?
Take it further
