Coloring order

  1. Color Kongal's gray body in light gray or silver, then dab the scattered spots on its coat in a darker gray one at a time.
  2. Make the beach ball on its head stand out by coloring each panel in turn with red, yellow, green and blue.
  3. Use sky blue and white for the icy rock Kongal sits on, and two different blues for the sea behind and the distant glacier.

Questions to talk about

  • How do you think Kongal got that ball up on its nose?
  • What would happen if you tried to balance a ball on your head?
  • What's your favorite ball game, and who is fun to play it with?

Take it further

Rest a light balloon or soft ball on the back of your hand or arm and try to walk without dropping it. Take on Kongal's balancing challenge.

Age and time are rough guides for a child coloring alone with pencils or crayons; every child is different. The area count is an estimate counted from the line-art image.
