Coloring order

  1. Color Kronborg's pale beige walls and the tall central tower in one shade, and the stone base at the bottom in gray-brown.
  2. Paint the pointed spire on top of the central tower, the roofs of the round towers at both ends and the big sloping roof in copper blue-green.
  3. Last, color the square windows in rows, the arched door at the bottom center with the pointed frame above it, in darker shades.

Questions to talk about

  • From the tallest tower, what might the castle be watching over?
  • Who might have lived in this castle? Pick one person and tell their story.
  • Where would you hide if you played hide-and-seek in a castle?

Take it further

Imagine your own castle and draw it. Decide how many towers it has and what color the roofs are, and give it a name.

Age and time are rough guides for a child coloring alone with pencils or crayons; every child is different. The area count is an estimate counted from the line-art image.
