Coloring order

  1. Alternate gray and beige on the cobblestone street in front of the small car, and give the car a bright color like yellow.
  2. Alternate green and white on the striped awnings, color the window-box flowers red and pink, and the ivy green.
  3. At the end, take your time with the clock tower's orange roof, the arch, the bicycles on the right and the café chairs, one tiny space at a time.

Questions to talk about

  • What time does the clock tower say? What am I doing at that time?
  • The little car has round eyes and a smiling mouth. Who did it meet in this alley?
  • What is your favorite street or shop in your neighborhood?

Take it further

Pick one shop from the picture, imagine its sign and menu board, and draw them. Then play shop with a friend as customer and owner.

Age and time are rough guides for a child coloring alone with pencils or crayons; every child is different. The area count is an estimate counted from the line-art image.
