Coloring order
- Alternate pink and apricot across the fan-patterned brick yard, then color the coupe sitting on it in cream.
- Color the round canopy over the hotel entrance and the arched window frames turquoise, and the car's barred grille and wheels silver-gray.
- At the end, add sky blue to the fountain spray, green to the palms and potted plants, and yellow to the lanterns in the corners.
Questions to talk about
- If you walked through the hotel doors, what kind of room would be waiting?
- How might the fountain behind the car look at night?
- Have you worn something nice on a special day? What was the day?
Take it further
On a big sheet, draw and cut out a car, palm trees and a fountain. Glue them into your own hotel courtyard and make up a story about a guest arriving.
Age and time are rough guides for a child coloring alone with pencils or crayons; every child is different. The area count is an estimate counted from the line-art image.
