- Areas to color
- about 290
Coloring order
- Color the Land Cruiser FJ40's boxy body yellow first, and try a lighter color for the roof and around the windshield.
- Color the big knobby tires, round headlights and front bumper in dark gray and black for a strong look.
- Last, alternate colors on the red canyon walls, the stones in the stream, the tent in back and the wooden bridge.
Questions to talk about
- What might you find if you drove this car deeper into the canyon?
- Who is resting inside that tent?
- How would it feel to cross a stream of flowing water?
Take it further
Make a small tent in your room with blankets and chairs, then draw an expedition map on paper and mark where the treasure is hidden.
Age and time are rough guides for a child coloring alone with pencils or crayons; every child is different. The area count is an estimate counted from the line-art image.
