Coloring order
- Color the round steak plate white and pale blue, and the meat with its crisscross grill marks deep brown.
- The smiling fried egg gets white for the egg white and bright yellow for the yolk in the middle.
- Color the fork and knife silver-gray. In the empty space outside the plate, draw a blue checkered tablecloth if you like.
Questions to talk about
- The fried egg has a big smile. How is it feeling?
- Those crisscross lines on the steak: how do you think they got there?
- Besides a fork and knife, what else goes on your table at home?
Take it further
Draw the one-plate dinner you would serve on a paper plate and give it a name. Gather everyone's plates into a play restaurant menu.
Age and time are rough guides for a child coloring alone with pencils or crayons; every child is different. The area count is an estimate counted from the line-art image.
