Coloring order
- Leave the snowman's big body and head as plain white paper, and add just a little light blue shading at the edges for shadow.
- Color the two penguins' black bodies and orange beaks and feet, then alternate coral and mint on their hats and scarves, stripe by stripe.
- Last, do the purple bucket hat, the carrot nose, the snowballs and bucket below, the mountains behind and the snowy trees.
Questions to talk about
- What name will the penguins give their snowman?
- If the snowman could talk, what would it say first?
- What would you like to play outside on a snowy day?
Take it further
Cut one big and one small white paper circle, glue them one above the other, then add a hat, nose and buttons to build a snowman.
Age and time are rough guides for a child coloring alone with pencils or crayons; every child is different. The area count is an estimate counted from the line-art image.
