Coloring order
- Color Lumirin's swirling mane and tail in pink, mint and pale yellow, a different color for each strand.
- Use pale mint for the overlapping fish-scale pattern on the body, and leave the cream face and legs almost white.
- Last, color the branching horns on the head and all four hooves, including the raised one, in gold or deep yellow.
Questions to talk about
- Lumirin has one hoof raised. Where is it about to step?
- Under what color of sky would that cloud-like mane float?
- Which three pastel colors would you pick as favorites?
Take it further
Draw overlapping round swirls with pastel pencils to make a cloud-like mane strip, and stick it beside your Lumirin picture.
Age and time are rough guides for a child coloring alone with pencils or crayons; every child is different. The area count is an estimate counted from the line-art image.
