Coloring order

  1. Start with the giant tulips surrounding her, giving each flower a different color: red, orange or yellow.
  2. Blend the petal-like gown from pink into yellow, and leave the dewdrop lantern in her hand bright and sparkling.
  3. Finish the round wooden door and stone path behind the garden, plus the ladybug and dewdrops on the big leaves, one small space at a time.

Questions to talk about

  • What do you think the princess's lantern is made of?
  • Who might be hiding inside a tulip?
  • If you shrank to the size of a bug, what would look biggest in this garden?

Take it further

Cut three or four paper petals, overlap and glue them onto a green stem, and make a single tulip of your own.

Age and time are rough guides for a child coloring alone with pencils or crayons; every child is different. The area count is an estimate counted from the line-art image.
