Coloring order
- Begin with the wide sky and lake behind the princess, using two light blues over the large areas.
- Then color her green overdress and cream skirt, her long brown braid and the small white flowers in her hair.
- Last, color the castle on the hill across the lake, the stone bridge, the flock of swans in the sky, and the arched window and ivy on the tower wall.
Questions to talk about
- Who do you think the cloth she is weaving is for?
- What will the swans see when they fly across the lake to the castle?
- Have you ever made something with great care for someone?
Take it further
Cut out several paper birds and stick them on a wall in a V shape. Name the lead bird and tell where the flock is headed.
