Coloring order

  1. Color the golden crown on Marong's head yellow first, then fill in the long curled body, alternating pink and purple stripes.
  2. Use pale yellow or peach for the round sections on the belly and a deeper pink for the wavy fin on the back.
  3. Finish with the stars and bubbles floating around and the seaweed and shells behind, using many colors for a sparkly feeling.

Questions to talk about

  • Why do you think Marong's tail is curled up in a spiral?
  • What kind of kingdom is the coral garden where Marong wears its crown?
  • If you wore a crown, what shape would you make it?

Take it further

Make a crown for Marong out of construction paper and wear it. Cut out stars and gems to decorate it any way you like.
