Coloring order

  1. Separate Orky's black back, white belly and the white patch above the eye, coloring black and leaving the white parts empty.
  2. Use black or deep navy for the spread flipper and tail, and pink for the inside of the smiling mouth.
  3. Color the crashing waves below in blue, turquoise and white foam, and the sun and clouds above in yellow and white.

Questions to talk about

  • Where do you think Orky is jumping off to above the waves?
  • Did you find the white patch above Orky's eye? What does it look like?
  • When was the last time you jumped around with joy? How did it feel?

Take it further

Cut black and white paper into an Orky collage. Decide where the white goes and compare the patterns each of you makes.

Age and time are rough guides for a child coloring alone with pencils or crayons; every child is different. The area count is an estimate counted from the line-art image.
