Coloring order
- Color Mungchi's round brown body in one color, sweeping the crayon in a single direction to avoid streaks.
- Leave the two white tusks on either side of the mouth blank, and dot the whisker spots by the cheeks with dark brown.
- Use pale blue and white for the ice floe and icebergs behind, and fill the sea with blue using side-to-side strokes.
Questions to talk about
- What shape are Mungchi's tusks? What do you think it uses them for?
- Sitting on ice, wouldn't Mungchi get cold? What might it do?
- What did you wear on a cold winter day, and what did you do outside?
Take it further
Crumple white paper into ice floes and set your cut-out Mungchi on top to build an icy sea scene. Decide who Mungchi's neighbors are, too.
Age and time are rough guides for a child coloring alone with pencils or crayons; every child is different. The area count is an estimate counted from the line-art image.
