- Estimated time
- 20–35 min

- Easy
- Areas to color
- about 180
Coloring order
- Color the Merlion's lion face and fish body in cream or light gray, then alternate two colors on the scales one by one.
- Next, paint the waving girl's red jacket, blue skirt and white sneakers, and pick colors for her pink flower and hair bow.
- Last, color the sea behind with wavy bands of blue, then the faraway building with the ship-shaped roof, the clouds and the paving tiles.
Questions to talk about
- The Merlion is spouting water from its mouth. Where might the water go?
- Where would an animal with a lion's head and a fish's body live?
- Have you ever taken a photo on a trip? Where were you?
Take it further
Draw your own half-and-half animal, like a bird with a fish tail, then give it a name and tell a friend where it lives.
Age and time are rough guides for a child coloring alone with pencils or crayons; every child is different. The area count is an estimate counted from the line-art image.
