Coloring order

  1. Color the snowplow's big cab and body in one blue first, then give the wide plow blade at the front a big sweep of orange.
  2. Separate the pile in the back bed, the warning lights on the cab roof and the thick chained tires with orange, yellow and gray.
  3. Last, leave the snowbanks mostly white and color the chalets, the snowy pines and the far-off peaks in blue, green and brown.

Questions to talk about

  • How will the road look different after the snowplow passes?
  • What might the townspeople do on a morning with lots of snow?
  • Have you ever shoveled snow or played in it?

Take it further

Crumple white tissue into snow piles, make a plow blade from cardboard, and push it along. Talk about how the road changes before and after.

Age and time are rough guides for a child coloring alone with pencils or crayons; every child is different. The area count is an estimate counted from the line-art image.
