Activity guide for this page
- Recommended age
- Ages 5–8
- Estimated time
- 25–40 min
- Difficulty
- Medium
- Areas to color
- about 210
Coloring order
- Start with the red panda's rusty-brown body and ringed tail, alternating brown and cream bands, to fill in the whole animal first.
- Color the round lantern in its arms and the two lanterns on the string in matching reds, keeping the white flowers on the pink robe a different color.
- Last, do the green-roofed candy cart and its wooden wheel, the pink flowers at the bottom and the little stars in the sky.
Questions to talk about
- Where do you think the red panda is carrying that lantern?
- What flavors might the candies on the little cart have?
- Have you ever walked outside at night with a lantern or flashlight?
Take it further
Fold a sheet of colored paper in half, cut slits from the fold almost to the edge, then open it and glue the ends into a round paper lantern. Hang several in a row.
Age and time are rough guides for a child coloring alone with pencils or crayons; every child is different. The area count is an estimate counted from the line-art image.
