Coloring order

  1. Color Topi's body gray-brown, and fill each tooth on the long saw-shaped snout with pale beige, one at a time.
  2. Under the wide smile, separate the pinkish belly, the eye and the fins, and add a light pink to the cheek.
  3. Use yellow and brown for the sandcastle below, many colors for the shells around it, and save the seaweed and little fish for last.

Questions to talk about

  • How do you think Topi built the sandcastle? Who might have helped?
  • What could Topi use its long snout for?
  • Have you ever built something out of sand or dirt?

Take it further

Stack cardboard scraps or blocks into a castle for Topi. Decide how many doors and windows it needs and give the castle a name.

Age and time are rough guides for a child coloring alone with pencils or crayons; every child is different. The area count is an estimate counted from the line-art image.
