- Areas to color

Coloring order
- Color the left vertical band green, being careful not to cross over to the thin cord hanging beside the pole.
- Color the right vertical band red. In the white band, you can lightly trace just the folds in pale gray pencil.
- Paint the pole brown and the ball on top yellow, then add the grass and flowers on the hill last.
Questions to talk about
- What kind of grass or vegetable does the green band remind you of?
- Can you think of a food or object that has green, white and red together?
- What song or rhythm comes to mind when three colors sit side by side?
Take it further
Fold a sheet of paper into three sections and draw green things in one, white things in another and red things in the third.
Age and time are rough guides for a child coloring alone with pencils or crayons; every child is different. The area count is an estimate counted from the line-art image.
