Coloring order

  1. Color the wide sky behind the CN Tower light blue and the grassy hill below green first, since they are the biggest areas.
  2. Give the waving child's red knit hat and jacket, blue pants and brown boots one color each.
  3. Finish with the round pod partway up the tower, the thin antenna, the city buildings behind and the orange leaves of the tree on the right.

Questions to talk about

  • Who do you think the child is waving hello to?
  • What do you think is inside the round part in the middle of the tower?
  • How does it feel to go outside in a warm hat and scarf on a chilly day?

Take it further

Fold red paper and cut out a maple-leaf shape, then compare it with the leaf on the child's scarf. Can you cut a bigger one and a smaller one?

Age and time are rough guides for a child coloring alone with pencils or crayons; every child is different. The area count is an estimate counted from the line-art image.
