Coloring order

  1. Start with the whole iron frame of the Eiffel Tower, from its four spreading legs to the big arch between them, in one deep navy or teal.
  2. Next, give the wide band that wraps around the tower above the legs its own color, such as gold or orange, so the middle stands out.
  3. Last, fill the small lattice gaps in the narrowing top and the thin antenna tip, alternating a light shade and a dark one.

Questions to talk about

  • How would it feel to walk through the big arch under the tower?
  • What do you think you would see from the very top of the Eiffel Tower?
  • Have you ever looked down from somewhere high? What was it like?

Take it further

Roll newspaper into thin sticks, tape them into triangles, and stack the triangles into a small tower. How tall can yours get without wobbling?

Age and time are rough guides for a child coloring alone with pencils or crayons; every child is different. The area count is an estimate counted from the line-art image.
