Coloring order
- On the map of Greece, color the big upper land mass the same blue as the flag above, following the spiky left edge with your pencil tip.
- Color the big and small islands scattered below and to the right one by one in blue, and put a tiny dot on each one you have finished.
- Color the long island lying sideways at the very bottom in a slightly different blue, and check each island for anything missed.
Questions to talk about
- How many islands are there altogether? What is a good way to count?
- If a boat sailed between the islands, which route would you take?
- Have you ever picked up shells or stones at the beach?
Take it further
Scatter little paper scraps on a table and connect the big land to each island with string, then look for the shortest route.
Age and time are rough guides for a child coloring alone with pencils or crayons; every child is different. The area count is an estimate counted from the line-art image.
