Coloring order
- Start with the thick brick wall below the Great Wall's watchtower, covering it widely in one gray-brown.
- Color the stone path and steps winding along the wall light brown, and alternate two browns on the low notched wall along the top.
- Last, color the tile roof with its slightly upturned edges reddish brown, and make the small windows and the inside of the arched door dark.
Questions to talk about
- If you walked all the way along this wall, where would you end up?
- What do you think the person looking far out from the tower is watching for?
- Have you ever walked along a long, winding path?
Take it further
Tape long paper strips into a winding wall path, set small paper-box towers along it, and lead it around a tabletop.
