Forest Animals Coloring Pages
14 coloring pages of forest animals, drawn to keep each animal's real shape and markings. A color reference comes with every page, so you can see the real colors while you work.
14 pages Open a title to see the finished version and the line art side by side.
Ways to use this collection
Bear, fox, wolf, squirrel, hedgehog, beaver and deer make seven forest animals, each with a color reference and a line drawing for 14 pages. Big animals and small ones are mixed together and their coat colors vary, so the set works well for comparing size and ways of living within one forest.
Activity ideas
- Use one sheet of paper as a forest map, paste in the seven cut-out animals, draw trees and a stream, and make up a story about who lives next to whom.
- Ask how a bear spends the winter and what a beaver builds from wood, then check the answers in a picture book or photos before coloring.
- Imagine autumn gifts for the squirrel and the hedgehog, such as acorns and berries, and draw them in colored pencil beside the finished page.
Tip Rather than handing out all seven, give a big animal and a small one at a time as a pair, which fits comfortably in a one-hour class.
