Grains and bread Coloring Pages
8 food coloring pages on grains and bread from the food balance wheel. The colors are clear, so they are good for learning color names, and each food comes as a pair: a color reference and black-and-white line art to print. Handy for nutrition lessons and for talking about picky eating.

Ways to use this collection
This grains set has four pages: bread with butter, rice with corn, a potato and a roasted sweet potato. Steam rising from the rice bowl, toast on a plate decorated with wheat ears and a split-open sweet potato give the pages a cozy mood, and warm yellows, browns and purples do most of the work.
Activity ideas
- Color the sweet potato's skin deep purple and its flesh yellow for a strong contrast, and leave the steam as bare white paper so it feels hot.
- Line the four pages up on the wall and let each child vote with a sticker for whether each food is best at breakfast, lunch or snack time.
- Draw side dishes around the rice bowl to complete a whole meal, and take turns telling which grain food you ate this morning.
Tip Save small parts like the butter pat and the corn kernels for last with a fine-tipped pencil, and allow about 15 to 25 minutes per page.
