Protein foods Coloring Pages
8 food coloring pages on protein foods from the food balance wheel. The colors are clear, so they are good for learning color names, and each food comes as a pair: a color reference and black-and-white line art to print. Handy for nutrition lessons and for talking about picky eating.

Ways to use this collection
Four pages here show protein foods: steak with a fried egg, grilled fish with tofu, a roasted drumstick and a pea pod. A grid-marked steak, a fish beside a lemon slice and three peas lined up in their pod all have different textures, so even plain brown gets colored in several shades.
Activity ideas
- Layer three browns from light to dark on the drumstick and steak, and dab deep yellow on the egg yolk to show food that is cooked golden.
- Draw a fourth pea friend beside the pod, give it a name, and write a short chat between the peas in speech bubbles.
- Sort the pages into boxes for meat, fish, eggs and beans, then brainstorm together which other protein foods are missing from the set and could be added.
Tip Eggs, fish and beans are common allergens, so check with families before any tasting; the coloring and sorting game alone easily fills a 20-minute lesson.
