Vegetables Coloring Pages
8 food coloring pages on vegetables from the food balance wheel. The colors are clear, so they are good for learning color names, and each food comes as a pair: a color reference and black-and-white line art to print. Handy for nutrition lessons and for talking about picky eating.

Ways to use this collection
This vegetable set has four pages: carrot and broccoli, cucumber and bell pepper, a tomato, and a shiitake mushroom. The cucumber and pepper sit on a cutting board, the tomato has a kitchen behind it and the mushroom rests on a leaf, so greens, reds, oranges and browns all get a turn.
Activity ideas
- Name the tomato and the pepper, imagine which dish each would love to be part of, and write it in a speech bubble.
- Split the broccoli florets between two greens, and leave the star-shaped crack on the mushroom cap as white paper to suggest texture.
- Stand the finished pages up as a pretend vegetable shop, let children order what they want, and have each name one family dish that uses it.
Tip Don't push children to taste vegetables after coloring; for ages 3 to 5, about 15 minutes per page and a chat about the picture is plenty.
