Coloring order
- Keep the huge round dome of the stupa nearly white, adding only a light gray shadow, and color the ground a pale sand.

- Last, color the strings of flags stretching down from the top, cycling through five colors in order, then the child's vest and cap pattern.
Questions to talk about
- With his hands pressed together, what kind of greeting do you think the boy is giving?
- Where do you think the big eyes painted on the tower are looking?
- How do you think the strings of colorful flags move when the wind blows?
Take it further
Glue small paper triangle flags in a row onto a piece of yarn, then fan it gently and watch how the flags flutter.
Age and time are rough guides for a child coloring alone with pencils or crayons; every child is different. The area count is an estimate counted from the line-art image.
