Ways to use this collection
The CN Tower, Statue of Liberty, El Castillo at Chichen Itza, Christ the Redeemer, Machu Picchu and the Buenos Aires Obelisk join the flags of the United States, Canada, Brazil, Mexico, Argentina and Chile in this set. There are also animal maps where an eagle, a moose, a jaguar, an axolotl and a penguin sit inside country outlines.
Activity ideas
- After coloring the six flags, cover them one at a time and give clues such as 'it has a star' or 'it has a maple leaf' for others to guess the country.
- Color the eagle, moose, jaguar, axolotl and penguin, then make matching cards that pair each animal with its country.
- After coloring Machu Picchu or El Castillo, write a question such as who built it and why, and look for answers in library books as a small research project.
Tip The CN Tower and Obelisk pages marked easy suit ages 5 to 6, while Machu Picchu and El Castillo, with their dense stonework, are better for ages 7 and up.
